Hi Everyone,
This is my first post on the No Sheep KAL (although I have been lurking!). I finished my Tomato about 2 months ago. I used Knit Picks Main Line in Wedgewood (main color) and Silver Sage (contrasting color). I had to increase my needle size to get gauge. This was my first sweater EVER! I learned so much and I loved every second of it. If you look at the pic, you'll see that I missed a row in the color section and ended up with 4 sections instead of the larger 3. Instead of a mistake, I like to think of it as a design feature!
Also, I am trying to decide on a Christmas gift for my mother. I am torn between Tuscany and Bacardi. I want something extra special for her, but with work and school I need my knitting to still be relaxing. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Gwen

Gorgeous! Great job on a first time sweater. You're a pro already!

Very well done - and the colours are great!
Re your other query: I'm biased because I don't like working on lace (yet, anyway ;-). However, I did make the Bacardi and I loved working on it. It is much simpler than it looks to make...and the Super10 is one of my favourite yarns. See my post of 18 June 2007 here or the photo below...
Bacardi
Having said that I'm sure your mom would equally love the Tuscany.
Cheers...

Brouhaha Knits!
I like the colourwork, they sort of look like little birds. If you take the left leg of the left-most stitch as a beak, the bottom stitch as the legs, and the right-most stitch as the tail...
Anyway, great job. :) Tomato was my first sweater, too.
What pattern you should make depends on your mother. Do you think she'd wear a shawl or a cardigan more often?
Great job on Tomato! I love the colors :)
Love yours. What a great pattern. I've an idea to do one for next summer.... Being from the south, mine will be a fried green tomato. :-)
Everyone has been so nice! Thanks for making me feel welcomed! I'm from the South too, brattyknitter. I wish I had thought of a fried green tomato!
Cute Tomato!
I would say go with the shawl. Garments can be really tricky, and then there is the potential for disappointment if you put hours and hours into something and it doesn't get worn much. At least, speaking from my own experience, I stopped knitting garments for other people a long time ago-- I knit accessories and they are usually very well-received.
Wow - beautiful Tomato! I also loved the colors! Very springlike:)
With all these lovely tomatoes on this blog, now I'm thinking of doing one - and it would look downright obscene on me (hey, wait a minute.....)
Congratulations and well done!
Joan - still working on the c & o cardigan - slowly but surely getting there.
