intoxicating in progress

I said I wouldn't, but here are progress pics.

If interested in the whole (somewhat sorry) story, check out the blog. Bonus feature in today's post: Felting (or not, as the case may be) with mohair/acrylic blend. Serves me right for trying to go all sheepy on you!

Cheers,
Kristina

PS. The stripe effect on the back is, I know, rather - ahem - interesting. Oh well. ;-)

intoxicating update...

I've finished the front! (after a brief hiatus into the world of lace...)
(pre blocking)

I'm posting this in progress as I wanted to show a colour modification I made within the front of the top:

I'm not sure how clearly it comes out in the photos. However, I reversed the colour patterning midway through the top, so that colour A (brown) became colour B (teal) and vice versa. This was borne out of practical necessity because otherwise I was going to end up running out of the brown!

thoroughly intoxicating!

I must confess that this is NOT the geeky swatch... but the beginning of the sweater (which I started tonight). Colour choice due in large part to (and inspired by) the lovely "extra" in a recent swap package from our very own Stitchay Woman! The two yarns pictures are SWTC, one soysilk, one bamboo.

Has anyone else started this top? It's a great knit so far, and makes me feel so clever! ;-)

Intoxicating Progress

I went on a bus trip this weekend, from Naperville IL to ThreadBear Fiberarts in Lansing Michigan. This gave me plenty of knitting time. As you can see I'm making good progress on the back. I'm very happy with how the front and back look together. This will definitely be a distinctive, one of a kind piece.

I met someone from Chicago who bought yarn for Tomato and told her about this KAL. Hopefully we'll be seeing her posts here as well.

I'm Intoxicated

This pattern is so fabulous. I was smitten the moment I saw it. I has the right mix of color & pattern to keep me interested. It works up fast too.
I'm using Cascade Pima Tencel . I had some difficulty picking the colors. My sister recommended the yarn and picked the blue and green from her available colors. I finally chose the deep orange. It needed the right intensity to make the mosaic visible. Thanks, Kristin!

It's Here at Last!

Hi all!

I received my copy of "No Sheep for You" yesterday morning after waiting 2 very long weeks! I love it! Especially all the titbits of information on yarns. I studied Fabric Evaluation at Uni so find this kind of thing really interesting.
I have found a pattern which is so suited to me,

"Intoxicating"

It's so suited because I get bored easily, once I have mastered a new pattern or stitch, I loose interest, but this one has a different pattern on the front and back and the sleeves! I love the pinbox mosaic, a pattern which looks like "fairisle" but there's no stranding...Oh I could go on forever.

I'm part of a Stashalong, so no new yarn for me, I had to hunt through my stash and found plenty of balls of a cotton/acrylic blend in a pink/peach colour, a ball of cream coloured cotton and just incase I don't have enough of that I have a ball of red cotton/acrylic blend, So I will alternate between cream and red mosaic squares.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone else's work...
Good Luck - Angie (Riggwelter)
